Babette Rothschild will be presenting this workshop in Sydney only! This will be the final time Babette will present this workshop in Australia!
Developed by Babette Rothschild, this one day workshop will expand a clinician’s mind and toolbox for increasing stability, maintaining stability and reducing the risks associated with vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue and therapist burnout!
Therapist burnout is a pressing issue, and self-care is possible only when therapists actively help themselves. Babette examines the literature from neurobiology, social psychology, and folk psychology in order to explain how therapists suffer from an excess of empathy for their clients, and then they present strategies for dealing with burnout and stress.
Why this workshop?
This workshop will draw from research discussing the prominent risks to health professionals wellbeing when working with individuals with a trauma background.
Risk factors for compassion fatigue, burnout and vicarious trauma will be explored along with self-care strategies to equip health professionals with the necessary tools to continue providing effective support
Who should attend?
This training is ideal for any helping professional engaged in trauma healing treatments. The theory, tools and techniques presented in this seminar are easily integrated across the widest range of treatment modalities including CBT, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing and more.
